Glamping at Rock Creek!

March 9, 2022

Camping is a great way to experience Montana, but it can be a little grimy for a pioneer of the luxury lifestyle. This desire for a posh way to experience the wilderness has driven many to participate in what is called “glamping”.

Glamping is defined by Urban Dictionary as “Shorthand for glamorous camping; luxury camping.” What better way to enjoy the fresh air and the starry nights than a pampering experience with all of the convenience and amenities of a hotel? While not as popular in MT as it is in other states like California or Texas, you can still find it!

The Ranch At Rock Creek is one of the first Montana destinations to offer a glamorous camping experience. Alongside 4 traditionally built cabins in four different styles, The Ranch offers 6 more canvas cabins, which can be easily removed and will minimally affect the environment around them. This makes for a cozy stay, with less harm done to the sites you’re staying on. However, the amenities and five star services will ensure that your experience is rich with luxury. All of the cabins sit in wildflower meadows on the banks of Rock Creek. Included in each cabin package there’s also personal mountain bikes to help you get around the ranch!

Inside the Classic Canvas Cabins you can enjoy 790 sq. ft. of comfortable space. These cabins include a gas stove, screened porch and an attached bathroom. This type of space is perfect for hosting couples, with a maximum occupancy of 4. These hybrid structures overlook the mountain-fed stream and all 4 of this style of cabin are named after the fish inside the river. That is, Rainbow, Apache, Gila and Bull!

The Family Canvas Cabins are similar to the Classic style, with the hybrid design making the experience incredibly comfortable. There’s much more space in these cabins, however, with 1,047 sq. ft. of space for the entire family. Sitting flat on a meadow of native grasses and wildflowers, you can enjoy the screened porch any time of the day, as well as the hard framed bathroom for utmost convenience. This space can house 3-6 guests and even features a reading nook and a private deck. These cabins are named Brook, Cutbow, Grayling and Lake!

Trapper Cabin is an individual style that models the same hybrid design as the Ranch’s previous two. However, at 750 sq. ft. and a location closer to creek, you’ll stay a little cooler in the summertime. This cabin is perfect for the fly fisherman who wants to dominate the river from dawn to dusk. The floor boards have hydronic heat, and the cabin includes a stove, so the winter months stay comfortable and perfect for Montana’s changing seasons.  Trapper is the most secluded cabin, so honeymoons and anniversaries are popular amongst its guests. It’s also in proximity to a private hot spring and a fishing hole!

Sweet Grass is a 3 room, 1,300 sq. ft. cabin filled with high quality antiques! While all the cabins have the same level of thoughtful decor and feel, Sweet Grass is by far the most sizable. It even includes a living area, kitchenette, cedar soaking tub, fire pit and two luxurious suites.

Newest in the Ranch’s accommodations is the Homesteader Experience, which offers a close connection to historical pioneer lifestyles. This canvas cabin that is also a conestoga wagon has a king bed, two twin bunks and the other luxury amenities.

Glamping is a popular trend and a new way of experiencing the outdoors for many, so it might be time to experience it for yourself! Check out The Ranch At Rock Creek’s website here. Happy glamping!
